Silly Things People Do With Their Mobiles

It’s a mobile handset. It comes in a variety of shapes, sizes, colors and contour and some with features that come out the whazoo! I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all the manufacturers for bringing us all of the fantastic technology we’ve seen up to date. However, even after having so much tech, literally ‘in hand’, I’ve seen so many people use their mobile for a lot of really STUPID things. Allow me to elaborate with a list I came up with. In case you guys were under the impression that I had nothing to do and came up with this list out of sheer boredom.

Using the camera to see how you look

The camera can be real handy in those times when you don’t have a mirror around to check yourself out before a hot date or getting to work. Narcissism anyone.

Using the Stylus as a Toothpick or to clean your nails and ears

The pointy tip of the stylus’ that accompany a mobile seems to makes a great toothpick after hearty meal. Don’t want to be visiting that Dentist too often now.

Verbal Stress Buster

Using your handset as a mode to release stress by calling up the service providers and various customer service companies to yell at them for no specific reason or something than can be figured out amicably seems like a great way to relieve stress for a lot of people.

A convenient way to avoid verbal confrontation via SMS

With weird advertisements that depict messaging is the way to go these even in close proximities, is it any wonder that the art of conversation is dying. What happened to say it with flowers? I think the Smiley emoticons eat ‘em all. On the plus side it does help avoid some pretty weird conversations.

Buying a BT headset so it looks like you’re talking to yourself

I never understood the concept of a BT headset although I’m a huge fan of the technology and the concept. As paradox-y as that seems, what I mean is it does seem rather odd when you see someone who's apparently talking to themselves or even in a heated argument with themselves. You tend to pass judgment on their mental state of mind only realize that they have a BT headset in the ear you can't see and are simply having a fight with a significant other.

Pretending to be on the phone to avoid a conversation

This is extremely rude but can be very suitable for those times that you need to get out of sticky situation. Simply pretending to be on a call so as to avoid a conversation or attending a meeting works like a charm. At least until an actual call comes in while you’re in the middle of the act.

Saving personal messages from the ‘ladies’

It’s no big deal to save those weird forwards to forward or pretty much any other random messages on the handset. What one should be VERY careful about are those extremely ‘Personal’ messages from the ladies. You never know when your girlfriend may ask to use your handset when her handset’s battery runs out. What then enh? A regular clean up is very necessary considering these circumstances.

Word of advice – While some of these things may seem like they come in handy sometimes, the potential of ending up looking extremely foolish and getting into a mess of trouble is extremely high. I don’t recommend any of these cockeyed concepts, but I have seen most of them done, so in the spirit of keeping it real, don’t try this at home.
